The College of Marxism of Harbin Engineering University recruits teachers of Marxist Theory and similar subjects at home and abroad all the year round. In principle, young teachers are under 32 years old, and teachers with senior titles are under 45 years old. For those who have outstanding achievements in academic research or teaching, or have postdoctoral degree, or have overseas education or work experience, the age limit may be extended appropriately. We also encourage the introduction of the whole team.

Harbin Engineering University is listed in the “Double First-Class” university plan, “211 Project” and the “985 Project Innovation Platform”. The School of Marxism evolved from the Marxist-Leninist teaching and research department during the “PLA Military Institute of Engineering” era. It went through various developmental phases, including the Social Sciences Department in the 1980s, the Social Sciences Division in the 1990s, and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences in the early 21st century. Currently, the School offers an undergraduate program in Ideological and Political Education, as well as doctoral and master’s programs in the first-level discipline of Marxist Theory. The school has a total of 66 full-time faculty members, responsible for teaching ideological and political theory courses to undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students across the university and for training talents in Marxist Theory-related specialties. The School of Marxism consistently adheres to the “One Body, Two Wings” development philosophy (with faculty development as the main body and ideological and political theory courses and discipline construction as the two wings). Following the principles of coordinated planning, phased implementation, distinctive features, and seeking practical results, the School has witnessed significant progress in faculty construction, ideological and political theory course development, and discipline construction.
The school adheres to the working concept of “introducing and training, focusing on cultivation”, and makes efforts on “four focuses”, namely: focusing on the improvement of teachers’ professional ability, focusing on the development and growth of young teachers, focusing on the introduction of excellent doctoral graduates, and focusing on the flexible introduction of high-end leading talents. 1 teacher was selected as a cultural luminary in Heilongjiang Province in 2017 which included in the “Six Batch” talent program, 1 teacher was awarded as a young talent by the Central Propaganda Department, 2 teachers were nominated as the annual influence figure for ideological and political theory teachers in universities, and 1 teacher was selected as a member of the spiritual propaganda group of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of Heilongjiang Province
The school’s “Two Points and Two Specialties” teaching reform was selected as an excellent work case of ideological and political theory course construction by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The courses “Situation and Policy” was selected as excellent course in Heilongjiang province. “An Introduction to the Fundamental Principles of Marxism” and “An Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought and the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics” were selected as as excellent courses in Harbin Engineering University. The school has obtained a number of ideological and political theory course teaching reform project and won several teaching achievement awards.
The Marxist theory discipline of the school was rated as B-level in the fourth round of national discipline evaluation, ranking in the top 30% of the country, and was included in the “first-class” discipline construction sequence in Heilongjiang Province. It was selected as a key construction Marxist college in Heilongjiang Province, and has formed a stable and distinctive academic team, accumulating relatively rich academic achievements. In the past 5 years, it has undertaken 10 National Social Science Fund projects (including 1 key project) and 62 provincial and ministerial level projects. More than 20 monographs have been published. Teachers have published over 150 papers have been in core journals. The school has won 7 social science outstanding achievement awards in Heilongjiang Province, including 3 first prizes. The school has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Marxist Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to carry out all-round talent cultivation, scientific research, and academic exchange and cooperation.
