The In-Depth Discussion on Integrating the Spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Important Speech when Inspecting HEU into Ideological and Political Theory Courses

 Recently, the College of Marxism held a special discussion on integrating the spirit of integrating the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech when inspecting HEU into ideological and political theory courses in the main building, room 414. The dean of the school, Wang Jingyun, two vice deans, Pan Qiang and Liu Guizhan, and the heads of 9 ideological and political courses attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by vice dean, Pan Qiang, and the course heads gave detailed reports.

This meeting revolved around better promoting the integration of the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech when inspecting HEU into the 9 ideological and political theory courses offered by the school. There was a heated discussion.

 At the same time, the school requires each course group to hold a branch specialized seminar to determine the specific integration content and reach a consensus. Firstly, all ideological and political courses teachers must accurately grasp the scientific connotation and important significance of the speech spirit, and make words reasonable. Secondly, it is necessary to base oneself on the course positioning and teaching objectives, and ensure that words are well founded in the process of integration. Thirdly, it is necessary to closely combine the professional characteristics and development direction of HEU, and achieve tangible results. According to the latest textbooks, courseware, and key points compiled by the department, each ideological and political course group will conduct thematic discussions separately. The textbooks are “Introduction to Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era” “Ideological and Moral Education and the Rule of Law” “Outline of Modern and Contemporary Chinese History” “Fundamental Principles of Marxism” “An Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought and the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics” “Situation and Policy” “Theory and Practice of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era” “Introduction to Dialectics of Nature” and “Marxism and Contemporary China”.

At the meeting, The vice dean Pan Qiang and Liu Guizhan respectively put forward valuable suggestions for this seminar. The dean Wang Jingyun emphasized that teachers in each course group are required to strictly implement this matter and actively plan to improve their ideological standing. Firstly, each ideological and political course should strengthen in-depth research from the disciplinary level, and truly implement it into the classroom teaching of ideological and political courses. Secondly, each course group should attach great importance, starting from the sensitivity, professionalism, and pertinence of ideological and political course teachers, based on the courses, grasp the content  and build each course well. Thirdly, to use the course team to collectively prepare lessons, conduct in-depth discussions and explore suitable teaching forms for ideological and political courses, and do a good job in course promotion.
